Publishing in the Mediterranean: what it means, how it works, why it matters.
Every year in Cagliari, MPF selects ten international editors and spends three days working through a question about how culture moves across the Mediterranean: academically, through a specific country's literary ecosystem, and through their own professional experience.
Three days.
Three scales.
The Framework
The programme opens with an academic framework — a question about Mediterranean cultural production that sets the terms for everything that follows. Scholars, publishers, and cultural operators establish the coordinates.
The Lens
A focus country becomes the lens. Each edition selects a national publishing context from the Mediterranean basin, examined through its structures, constraints, and possibilities.
The Landing
The question lands with the fellows, read through the specificity of their own editorial contexts.
MPF is an initiative of Ischìre, an editorial cooperative based in Cagliari, Sardinia.
